Good art conveys truth in a unique way.

Good art enriches us – intellectually and spiritually.

Good art can help us become better human beings.

Good art can point us towards God.

Are you willing to consider the idea that God is the Greatest Artist Of All, and that He made artists and art possible?

As you look at the hues of a sunrise or sunset, a rainbow after a storm, a panoramic landscape, the way light sparkles on water, the amazing designs found throughout nature – doesn’t it make sense that there is a Great Artist at work, whose artistry surpasses that of any human being?

Good art requires intelligence. It takes work. Principles need to be learned. Skills need to be mastered. If you came across Michelangelo’s “David” or Da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa,” would you assume that these great works of art came into being by time and chance, or would you see evidence of the intelligence and design of great artists? Likewise, doesn’t it make sense that the world’s greater beauty and design are evidence of the work of the Greatest Artist Of All?

We can know something about an artist from his art. But, if we have a relationship with that artist, we can know the person himself. We can find out what motivates him, what he thinks his art means, what his values are that he wants to communicate to others.

Likewise, God wants us to seek Him until we know Him and we can communicate with Him.

This happens when we know that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah and the Son of God. Yeshua enables us to know God, have a relationship with God and be able to communicate with God.

You want truth? You want a beautiful life? You need to have a relationship with The Greatest Artist Of All.

With this in mind, Congregation Shema Yisrael invites you to our annual Festival of the Arts on Saturday, May 11. Our worship service begins at 10:30 am and is over by 12:15. The art exhibit will take place immediately following the service. Light refreshments will be served. Feel free to join us for the service and the exhibit, or for just the exhibit.

I hope to meet you there!

Rabbi Loren

More About Us

We are a community of Jewish people who believe that Jesus is the Messiah, Jewish people who are in the process of investigating Yeshua’s claims, and “kosher-hearted” Gentiles who want to learn more about the Jewish roots of their Christian faith. If you want to see my story, how I became a Jewish follower of Jesus, go to Kosher? Kosher.

We believe that Christianity is Jewish because it has a Jewish foundation. We believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and that He was (and is) the most Jewish person who ever lived. His first followers were Jewish, as were the writers of the New Testament. Did you know that a Messianic Jewish Community existed in Israel for many generations after Yeshua’s resurrection?

We believe that God is a person and that it’s possible to know Him in a personal way. We believe that Jesus lived a perfect life, died to make atonement for us, and then came back to life. We believe He’s alive now, the risen and powerful Messiah. We believe that He’s the key that unlocks a personal relationship to God; that knowing Yeshua enables us to have a more meaningful life; that knowing Him helps everything make sense; and that by becoming loyal to Him, we receive eternal life.
