We usually pray the following
prayer on Sabbath before the beginning of the
next Biblical month, at the end of the worship
service:
O
Lord our God and God of our fathers, draw us closer
to Yourself in this coming month, and bring us
goodness and blessing!
Grant
us fullness of life in the Messiah; life filled
with His peace, with His goodness, with His joy,
with His strength, with His righteousness and
with His blessing!
Grant
us a life in which our needs are met; a life filled
with greater love for You and Your word, a life
in which our duty to glorify You is fulfilled!
May
You who redeemed our ancestors from slavery, and
who redeems us from sin and death, and gives us
eternal life, soon gather Your people from the
four corners of the Earth, and bring us together
under the kingship of Messiah Yeshua!
The
new month of ... will begin on ... may it come
to us, to the Jewish people, and to all people
for good!
May
the Holy One, blessed be He, bless this new month
for us, and for His people Israel, and for all
peoples everywhere, and especially for Messiah’s
Holy Community with life, peace, joy and gladness,
salvation and blessing! And let us say, amayn!
We usually
pray the following prayer on the first Sabbath
of the Biblical month, at the beginning of the
worship service:
Praise
the Lord! Praise the Lord from the Heavens; praise
Him in the heights! Praise Him all His angels!
Praise Him all His hosts! Praise Him sun and moon;
praise Him all stars of light! Praise Him highest
Heavens, and the waters above the Heavens!
Let
them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded
and they were created. He has also established
them forever and ever; He has made a decree which
will not pass away.
Blessed
are You O Lord our God, king of the universe,
who created the heavens by Your command, and all
their host by Your mere word! You have subjected
them to fixed laws and times, so that they do
not deviate from their set function. They are
happy to do the will of their Creator. May we
be like the sun, moon and stars in this regard!
Like
the moon the history of Your people has assumed
a variety of phases. Like the moon Your people
have waxed and waned, yet we are still alive.
Like the moon we always reappear, even after being
eclipsed for a time.
God
of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and lord of creation,
may you protect all your children, the children
of the covenant made with Abraham, and the children
of the new covenant made through Messiah Yeshua,
this new month of ..., as it is written: the Lord
is your keeper. The sun will not smite you by
day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will protect
you from all evil.
You
ordered the moon to renew itself over those you
sustain from birth, who likewise will be regenerated
in the future. Blessed are You O Lord, who renews
the months.
