God of
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, righteous and holy Father
of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, You are the holy
God; yet we who were created in Your image have
sinned against You. We have participated in rebellion
against You. We were alienated from You, who are
the Source of goodness, blessing and life. We
have sinned and have earned the penalty of death,
for the wages of sin is death.
But You,
O Lord our God, are rich in mercy and grace, and
full of compassion, and so loved us that you sent
Messiah Yeshua, Your only Son, and our Lord and
Savior, that He might share fully in our humanity
and pour out His life as a blameless offering
to atone for all of our sins.
On the
night when He was betrayed, Yeshua took bread,
and when He had recited the blessing, He broke
it and said, “This is My body which is given
for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”
In the same way also He took the cup after the
Passover supper and said, “This cup is the
New Covenant in My blood. Do this, as often as
you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
Our God
and God of our fathers, may we be accepted in
Your presence as You accept Messiah Yeshua, the
Son of David, Your Son and Servant, but our living
Redeemer; who was put to death for our sins and
raised to make us righteous; who ascended to Your
right hand, and who right now, at this very moment,
is alive forever, and interceding for us, helping
us and eternally saving us!
Look upon
the face of Your Anointed One, and for His sake,
and because we are joined to Him because of our
faith, and are now part of Him, and He is bone
of our bone and flesh of our flesh; and because
He is our Kinsman Redeemer, grant us forgiveness
of all of our sins, and deliverance from sin’s
power. Bless us with repentance, so that we truly
turn to you. Bless us with faith, hope and love,
righteousness, favor and grace, health and strength,
wisdom, peace and eternal life!
And Lord,
we don’t pray just for ourselves. Have mercy
on Israel Your chosen people, on Jerusalem, Your
holy city, on Zion, the dwelling place of Your
glory, and on the people of Israel who are scattered
among the nations. Have mercy on your entire creation,
which yearns to be free from its bondage to death
and decay. Grant abundant peace all of Messiah’s
Holy Community which is scattered throughout the
world.
Remember
those of us who are part of Congregation Shema
Yisrael this Sabbath day, O Lord our God, for
well-being. Be mindful of us this first Shabbat
of this new month for blessing, and save us for
eternal life.
Fill us
with Your precious and Holy Spirit, who is the
pledge and first-fruits and down-payment of our
life in the World To Come. And, may Messiah Yeshua
return speedily and soon, and save us altogether
and completely with a great salvation of body,
soul and spirit.
Blessings
Over the Bread and Wine
Blessed
are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who
brings forth bread from the Earth.
Blessed
are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who
has created the fruit of the vine.
The cup
of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation
in the blood of Messiah? The bread which we break,
is it not a participation in the body of Messiah?
Because there is one bread, we who are many are
one body, for we all partake of the one bread.
Therefore O Lord our God, bless us with closeness
to You and to Your Son, and draw us closer to
one another. Bless us with abundant love and unity,
friendship and fellowship.
Acceptance
of our Worship
May the
offering of our prayers and praises rise as a
pleasing aroma before You this Sabbath day, all
because of and through the atoning sacrifice of
our great and eternal and sympathetic High Priest,
who is interceding for us at Your right hand.
Blessed are You, O Lord, who receives with love
and favor the worship of Your people.
The
One Worthy of Thanks
In every
generation we will thank You and recount Your
praise, for our lives which are in Your charge,
for our souls which are in Your care, for Your
miracles which are daily with us, for Your continual
wonders and favor, for reconciliation that we
have with You through the blood of Yeshua, and
for the gift of eternal life that we have because
we are joined to Him. Blessed are You, O Lord,
the One to whom it is fitting to give thanks!
