I was given an anonymous sheet of prayers for
Israel. I liked most of them and slightly modified
the rest. I want to pass them on, hoping they
will better equip us to pray for the peace of
Jerusalem.
Lord our God, we ask You to bring peace and well being to Jerusalem, Your
special city (Psalm 122:6). Enable all those who live there find the
wholeness and peace that only Yeshua, the Prince of Peace, can give.
For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem's sake I will
not keep quiet, until her righteousness goes forth like brightness,
and her salvation like a torch that is burning (Isaiah 62:1).
Righteous and holy Father of Messiah Yeshua, make Israel once again
righteous, holy, victorious, beautiful in Your sight, a delight and
a joy to You.
O King who hears the prayers of His people, raise up intercessors for
Israel. Put more watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem, who would give
You no peace day or night until You establish Jerusalem and make her
the praise of the Earth (Isaiah 62:6-7).
Our Father and our God, remove the veil You have placed over the eyes of
Israel, that we would recognize Yeshua as the King and Messiah and
Savior (2 Corinthians 3:14).
God of Israel, save Your people and bless Your inheritance; be their
Shepherd also, and carry them forever (Psalm 28:9). Cause us to
understand that Yeshua is the Good Shepherd who laid down His life
for Your sheep.
God of our salvation, show Your mercy and grace and favor to Israel at
this set time (Psalm 102:13).
Our Father and our King, we pray for the current leaders in Israel,
including the Prime Minister and his cabinet, the mayor of Jerusalem
and the other cities, all those in the military, that they make good
decisions based on the Word of God. Grant wisdom and understanding
to the members of Israel's Knesset and Supreme Court.
We know, O Faithful and True God, that You who scattered Israel will
gather him, and keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock (Jeremiah
31:10). Therefore, O Lord our God, continue to draw the Jewish
people to You, the God of Israel, and to the Messiah of Israel, as
well as to the Land of Israel, according to Your sovereign plan.
God of Jerusalem, let them all be confounded and turned back that hate
Zion. Let them be as grass upon the housetops, which withers before
it grows up (Psalm 129:5-6). King of kings and Lord of lords, deal
justly and swiftly with Your enemies.
All-Knowing and All-Wise One, confuse and divide the tongues of those who would
incite violence against Israel (Psalm 55:9). May all teachings and
false religion that does not acknowledge Your eternal plan for the
Land and people of Israel, be reproved.
Mightiest One, we know that the scepter of the wicked will not rest on the
land allotted to the righteous (Psalm 125:3), so we ask You to grant
victory over all wicked authorities - political, military and
religious, which seek to control Israel.
We know, Lord of Hosts, that for Your great Name's sake, You will not
abandon Your people, because it has pleased You to make Israel Your
people (1 Samuel 12:22). Use us to help others understand Your plan
for Israel and Your love for the Jewish people.
Shomer Yisrael - Guardian and Protector of Israel, show Your love to Your
people and keep them as the apple of Your eye. Hide them under the
shadow of Your wings, from the wicked who oppress them, from their
deadly enemies who surround them (Psalm 17:7-9).
O God who keeps His covenants, we pray that You would remember your
covenants and promises toward Israel, especially when others rise up
against her to swallow her alive. When their anger is kindled
against her, let not the raging waters of hatred overwhelm her
(Psalm 124).
Sanctify
Your great Name, which has been profaned among
the nations, which has been profaned in the midst
of Israel, that all the nations of the world may
know that You, O Lord, are God. Sprinkle the clean
water of Your Word on Israel and cleanse her from
her filthiness and from all her idols, including
secularism, sexual promiscuity, abortion and the
occult. Give Israel a new heart, and put a new
spirit within her. Remove her heart of stone and
give her a heart of flesh that can respond to
Your Holy Spirit. Cause Israel to walk in Your
statutes and keep Your commandments (Ezekiel 36:23-27).
Lord of the harvest, cause Messiah's Holy Community of Jews and Gentiles
to preach the Good News about the Messiah to the whole world, so
that the full number of the Gentiles would come into the Kingdom.
Then all Israel will be saved (Romans 11:25-26).
We know that it is good and pleasant for brothers to dwell together in
unity (Psalm 133), and so, God of peace, we pray for a spirit of
peace between religious and secular Jews, and for peace to exist
among Messianic Believers in the Land.
Ancient of Days, we pray for the body of Messiah in Israel to become a
mature community. We pray that this body would allow the love and
compassion of Yeshua to flow through them and touch everyone they
encounter.
We pray that, in the midst of the increasing pressures brought to bear
on the people of Israel, many more will turn to You, O God of truth,
and to King Messiah Yeshua, whom You have sent to redeem us. We pray
that You will hear the heart cries of people in the Land and have
mercy. As it is written, "You will weep no more. He will be
very gracious to you at the sound of your cry. When He hears it, He
will answer you" (Isaiah 30:19).
O God who is near us, pour out Your Spirit upon the people of Israel -
especially on the young people - so that one generation may praise
Your works to future generations, and declare Your mighty acts
(Psalm 145:4).
God of the Heavens, turn the hearts of the people of Israel to trust in
the Name of the Lord for victory and deliverance, for we know that
although some boast in the "horses and chariots" of their
military might, we must rely upon You for salvation (Psalm 20:7).
God of
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, raise up leaders to
teach and train the new generation of Israelis
who are coming to faith in the Messiah.
Living God, we pray that the Arabs who live in Israel will come to faith in
Messiah and embrace Your plans and purposes for Israel; send
laborers to bring in the appointed harvest from the whole of the
Middle East.
Supreme One, may Israel's relationship with the United States remain strong,
and may our nation continue to recognize and support Your purposes
for Israel.
Master of the universe, we ask that all true Christians throughout the
world would come to love the Jewish people, and bring the Good News
that saves us, to the Jewish community first, according to Your Word
(Romans 1:16).
God of
glory, bless Israel through the many immigrants
who are flowing back to the nation, in accordance
with the many promises in Your Word. Bring a sovereign,
supernatural move of the Holy Spirit among these
new immigrants, that they might proclaim Your
truth to their fellow Jewish people.
